She served as captain of the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics teams. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she received a gold medal at the team competition, making her and her co-teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans with back-to-back team gold medals. Raisman won silver medals for the individual all-around and floor exercise. Raisman also earned silver medals for the individual all-around and for floor exercise. She was also two-time champion of the national championships in floor exercises (2012 and 2015), and the champion of the national team in balance beam in the year 2012.
